Whenever I have the opportunity to travel abroad, I come home a better person. I appreciate more. I taste life differently. I am richer. And I love my own bed more.
I want to blog about this because my traveling buddy and husband will be a continent away from me. If I commit to blog I will hopefully be a bit more disciplined to journal every day and he can read about it ASAP.
So, here is the deal. I am leaving on Thursday, Jan. 5, 2011 (oops, 2012!) from SeaTac. I will fly to LAX and meet up with my sweet friend Patti. It is all her fault that I am leaving my favorite bed for two weeks! She invited me to join her on this wild ride and I am excited to see what comes of it all. We are also meeting her daughter, Rachelle, her son-in-law Eric, grandchildren, Emery, Finley and Levi. This family is the reason for this grand adventure. They are moving to Peru to be missionaries with Pioneer Missions. Patti will be there for 6 weeks, helping to settle them into their new home and just being Nana. I am along for the ride with open hands ready to help in anyway I can. Knowing Patti we will end up in all sorts of places and meeting all kinds of people. She is a people magnet and just loves to get to know people and love on them.
Rachelle and Eric will be deciding on a rental house soon after landing with the help of people there that they already know. R & E have been there before and are familiar with the area, having spent 6 weeks there a year and a half ago.
So after church tomorrow I start to pack. I should also probably take down my Christmas decorations as I don't want to face that upon my return on January 19.
